Although you can’t trade every stock and ETF fractionally, there are hundreds of U.S. stocks and ETFs available for fractional trading. This list is growing quickly. Look for the “Fractional” tag when searching for a stock or ETF on Investor’s Edge.

Once you've signed on to CIBC Investor's Edge, trading fractional shares is easy:

1. Select the stock or ETF you'd like to invest in
2. Choose your investment amount in dollars rather than selecting a number of shares
3. Review and confirm your order

You can trade fractional shares commission-free with CIBC Investor's Edge until October 31, 2027.¹

After October 31, 2027:

• For fractional trades less than 1 share (e.g., 0.5 shares), a commission fee of $1.95 per trade will apply.
• For trades greater than 1 whole share, standard commission rates will apply.

Yes, if you accumulate enough fractional shares to equal one full share, CIBC Investor's Edge will automatically aggregate those fractional shares into one whole share.
