Is the CIBC Investor's Edge online trading service secure?

• Constantly monitors all internal systems to ensure there has been no security attack or attempted break-in; additionally, we have regular and independent security checks on our computer systems to ensure our standards are being met.

What can I do to enhance my CIBC Investor's Edge account security?

• Keep your account information, password, and Personal Verification Questions (PVQ) answers secret.
• Never leave your computer screen unattended while using the CIBC Investor's Edge website.
• Don't send privileged account information (account numbers, passwords, answers to your PVQs, etc.) via e-mail.
• Don't use passwords or PVQs answers that incorporate your name, telephone number, address or birth date or those of your close friends or relatives.
• Change your password regularly and vary both the text and length each time.
• Don't use a password that is the same as your User ID.
• Don't use a password you use for anything else.
• Don't use any part of your bank card number as your password.
• Ensure that your PVQs answers should be easily memorable for you but cannot be guessed by others.
• If you ever suspect that your passwords or your PVQs answers have been compromised, change them immediately.
• Use a quality anti-virus program and keep it up to date.
• Use a different trading password from your sign-on password.
• Sign off properly and close your Web browser after signing off.
